Repairs
CDOT received Federal Funds to deliver emergency repairs to the Brush lateral Canal which was experiencing eroding soils underneath the roadway shoulder of US 34. This erosion was causing the roadway to sink and was degrading the delivery of water. Crews had to remove the paving and then drive interlocking sheet pile into the ground to provide a retention system for the roadway and strengthen and reinforce the canal wall so it can continue to supply irrigation water. The sheet pile retaining wall will be reinforced with rip-rap inside the canal and a there will be a 6” coping placed behind the new curb. Lawrence will also be responsible for repaving 10.5’width of roadway.
