Lawrence Construction was the successful competitive bidder on this $10.3 million project designed to improve traffic flow and safety ahead of construction of the $700 million main Floyd Hill project.   Using twin bridge structures, Lawrence will create an underpass for animals between the exits of Lookout Mountain and Genesee. Crews will also place wildlife fencing along both the east and westbound lanes between those exits.  

These structures have proven to reduce wildlife-vehicle collisions by as much as 90% ensuring safe passage for our wildlife and saving millions for motorists.  Crews mobilized on site in September 2022 and should be complete in December 2023.  Throughout construction Lawrence will maintain 3 lanes of traffic in each direction limiting impacts to the traveling public.
