The Central 70 Design/Build project was one of the most significant transportation expansion projects undertaken by the State of Colorado  since the Glenwood Canyon or Eisenhower Tunnel.  This project reconstructed a 10-mile stretch of I-70 between I-25 and Chambers Road, a critical economic corridor for Colorado carrying upwards of 200,000 vehicles today.  The prime contractor hired Lawrence Construction to build 13 bridges over I-70 and perform pile driving and associated ancillary structures.  This work was performed predominantly at night with crews exposed to live traffic.    Lawrence completed their work on schedule and within budget partnering with the prime contractor to support their crews as needed.
