Palmer Rail
Expansion
The EVRAZ Palmer Rail Expansion project was designed for the fabrication of ¼ mile long sections of steel rail in Pueblo Colorado. The Deep Foundation Division of Lawrence Construction was hired to install 916 driven steel H-piles and 40, 24” diameter, 50’ deep caissons to support the massive heavy lift cranes used to position the equipment in this state of the art, ½ mile long facility. Once on site, Lawrence performed additional work growing our final contract to $5.6 million. While the overall project is not yet complete, Lawrence wrapped up their contract and additional scope within the original contract window.
